Overview
I designed three original characters for Cyberpunk 2077: a child prodigy scientist, a mercenary, and a gang leader, each crafted to expand the game’s rich narrative universe. The gang leader, a bold and menacing figure with a striking design, quickly became my favorite. To bring his personality to life, I created a detailed 3D model that captured his intensity and role in the gritty world of Night City. Meanwhile, I explored the softer, yet equally intriguing side of the Cyberpunk universe through the prodigy scientist. Carefree and enthusiastic about her agricultural research, she is deeply fascinated by the delicate balance between plants, animals, and the environment. Inspired by her passion, I designed an immersive environment that reflects her world: a lush and futuristic space where technology meets nature, offering a unique contrast to the harsh urban sprawl of Night City.

The Challenge
Designing cybernetics for a sci-fi world like Cyberpunk 2077 was a challenge, requiring intricate mechanical details that aligned with the game’s aesthetic while reflecting the characters’ personalities. Ensuring the characters and environments fit seamlessly into the game’s lore demanded thorough research and creativity to maintain authenticity while introducing fresh elements. Additionally, achieving the game’s hyper-realistic visual standard in 3D modeling was complex, requiring meticulous attention to textures, lighting, and proportions to bring the designs to life.
The Solution
To design cybernetics that fit the Cyberpunk 2077 world, I conducted extensive research into the game’s existing designs and lore, while also exploring stylized concepts from other media to develop a unique approach. Ensuring the characters and environments aligned with the narrative, I embraced a more stylized direction, experimenting with bold shapes, exaggerated features, and creative textures to bring originality to the designs. When recreating the game’s hyper-realistic style proved too challenging, I pivoted to a stylized approach that emphasized expressive lighting, simplified textures, and dynamic proportions, resulting in a fresh and distinctive visual identity that still captured the spirit of Night City.
